A MURDER MYSTERY
Wednesday 23rd July – Sunday 27th July 2008
For Students in Years 6, 7, and 8
Make your own Murder Mystery play on this Stage School course! Be a Russian Princess! Be a 1920’s Flapper! Be a posh British spy in disguise!
On this course you will create your own murder mystery ‘who-done-it’ crime story based on the traditional Agatha Christie novels. Using improvisation and scripts we will develop a short mystery story, with all the techniques of a murder mystery, clues, crimes, motives, murder, investigations, suspicion, accusations and confessions.
The play will be performed on to an audience of parents and friends.
Students will need to bring TWO pairs of shoes, some outdoor shoes, and also soft shoes (light trainers or dance pumps perhaps) suitable for use in the rehearsal room. You will need to avoid wearing jewellery, piecings, rings, and belts with big buckles.
Please wear practical clothing for the course. Loose jeans and soft clothes are essential.
The course is for students who are in years 6, 7 and 8, and will run from 2pm on Wednesday July 23rd to Sunday July 27th 2008, with a short theatre performance for friends and family at 3pm to which all are invited.

A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM
Monday 11th to Sunday 17th August 2008
for students who will be in Yrs 9, 10, 11 and AS1
Your very own stage school! Leeson House is presenting Shakespeare's famous play as their summer theatre production. We need actors to be in this production. Students aged 13-17 are invited to join the project. You will not need to audition.
Fast action, crazy comedy and exciting characters make this play great fun to act, and to watch. This fully costumed production will be presented to family and friends at on Sunday 17th August.
This production will use an edited script to enable us to achieve the highest quality possible.
Although there are no auditions for this production students should have already done some acting, and should be willing and able to learn lines and work very hard.
We will spend time studying the way to act Shakespeare, discuss the meaning of the play, work on our voice projection, breathing and relaxation, and of course rehearse and learn lines.
If you would like an acting part in this play please return the application form from Leeson House as soon as possible. This theatre production will be directed and designed by prize winning writer and director Dave Hollis.
This unique course will run in parallel with a documentary film course at Leeson House, which will film the rehearsals and the performance, and a fashion course, where the costume design team will design and make the costumes for the performance. It is hoped that a video of the performance will be made available to the students after the course ends.
You will need practical work clothes including trousers, both outdoor shoes and soft indoor shoes
The course will commence at 1.00pm on Monday 11th . A presentation of the play will take place on Sunday 17th August 2008 at a time to be confirmed.
The video documentary made during the week will also be presented during the afternoon, as will the theatre costumes designed and made by the fashion design course which will run in parallel with the theatre course.
